The evening is about to start, and the last stones are now about to finish. We’d like to take this moment to thank all the artists who have been working incredibly hard this week, in the cold, on the floor and still made beautiful artworks. The papers are writing about us, and many press pictures have been taken today. So, hopefully, we see you all tomorrow at 13.00 in the Sureyya Opera!
Thursday was a present. We expected rain, but got a dry and sunny day. Although it was very cold, we got lucky with the extra day. Above you see a few stones that just got finished. For more pictures and updates, click here for our Facebook page.
Wednesday was THE day for the project. Good weather, cold but sunny, and a great spirit with all the artists. Next days de last 15 stones will be painted, and we’re working on the preparations for the opening next Saturday as wel. And, after a great party at the Dutch Consulate wednesday night, we’re even more motivated to make a beautiful finish! Thankyou.
Today, the painting started early in the morning. Iznik and Delft Blue are starting to become part of the daily streetlife here in Istanbul. The whole street is aware of the project, and the public is enthusiastic. We call it a good start! Apart from the rain at night… Fingers crossed.

Today the Dutch Artistic team arrived in Istanbul. Excited did we check the ‘work spot’ in front of the Sureyya Opera and worked all day on the final preparations and sketches. The stones, already painted white – thanks to the Kadikoy municipality – are waiting the Tuesday to begin. Just like we.
Between 10 – 15 december we’ll bring you the updates about the realisation of the project id-blue. Below some pictures of the stones that will be painted in style of Iznik and Delft Blue porcelain.
